Last night as we were out taking a walk, a car drove by us and the guy on the passenger side stuck his head out the window and screamed at us. Being a college town, this isn't the first time this has happened to me in Moscow (at least this time it didn't involve water balloons in winter). The car then proceeded to pull into Safeway and I was so tempted to walk in, find the guy, and scream in his ear.
Well, right there and then in the middle of the night on White Avenue, I realized this week's update was born. I didn't go after the guy, but I did run home and start sketching!
Anyways, onto the fun stuff...I was invited to attend the Fandemonium Expo in Nampa, Idaho this August as the Webcomic Guest of Honor! Roy and I are so excited...we're sitting down tonight and working out our finances and working out a plan to save up to see if we can afford to take the trip. I think I have the perfect workshop planned out too, if we can go! I'm excited...my first expo! I'm nervous as hell too...we're really pushing to find a way to afford to go, so hopefully it works out. For those of you who've rented booths at expos and cons, mind to shoot me an email with your experience? Especially if you're a webcomic artist. I've never attended before and I want to hear some more firsthand stories!
By the way, for those of you who haven't checked yet, the forums have been fixed! Roy updated to phpBB3 last night and we were able to prune all the one-trillion spammers in there and get the authentication codes and emails working. Unfortunately, this meant that all users who hadn't yet been authenticated or users who had never posted were wiped from the memberlist. So if you'd previously signed up on the forums and never got your codes, I'm so sorry! But everything is all fixed now so you can register again and it should all go smoothly. Thanks for being so patient with me. And thanks to my fantastic husband for flexing his manly computer-hax0ring muscles and getting the job done!
See you next week!
