I actually really want to play Left 4 Dead. Roy keeps playing the preview over and over again on his computer. I'm excited about co-op mode. Halo 3's co-op mode was good, but Roy got annoyed that I kept getting lost and lagging behind and I let him finish it on his own.The last game we successfully played in co-op was Umbrella Chronicles, but the characters were practically on a track and there honestly wasn't much to do except follow it and shoot things, so it wasn't exactly a fantastic time.

Speaking of survival horror, we hung around the video game shop until ten during their midnight-release for the new WOW expansion and got a used copy of Silent Hill: Homecoming at 30% off. It only took Roy two days to finish, I'm making him start again from his last save point so he can get the UFO ending and unlock the laser gun for me :) I know, I know, I'm lazy. I did the same thing with Resident Evil 4 and the Chicago Typewriter, only I beat the game myself first and unlocked the weapon personally. I don't make Roy do everything! :P

My verdict for SH5? If it had been released as a stand-alone game rather than part of a series, I would have to say that Homecoming was absolutely fantastic. However, as part of the Silent Hill series, I'll admit I was a bit let down. It didn't have as much of a psychological thrill to it like the previous games did. In the first three installments, was practically crapping my pants whenever I found myself suddenly in the Otherworld, screaming "NO NO NO!" and throwing the controller across the room in surrender. But in this game, I was almost relieved every time I heard those air-raid sirens because it essentially meant less enemies. To be perfectly honest, I didn't find the game all that frightening. The opening scene in the hospital was fantastic (albiet, WTF is up with the nurses suddenly losing the humps on their backs and gaining double D cup sizes?). Schisms and ferals were annoying at best, and sure, I squeaked a bit if something jumped out at me unexpectedly, but in the middle of the night, I was still able to crawl out of bed and walk to the bathroom without flipping on any lights or rushing back to bed in terror and diving under the covers. A truly scary game makes me afraid of the dark for at least a week.

And I couldn't find a Happy Burger!!!! :(

I will admit though, I did think the scenery was downright beautiful (WTF, grey foggy rundown abandoned towns with monsters are beautiful, Miya? Yes, I'm a crazy mofo) and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the voice acting.

In crafty news, I'm finally taking the time to crochet MYSELF a scarf, since it's so darn cold out now. Been having a lot of fun making soap, and next week I'll be moving on to candles as well. I just can't get enough of handmade stuff these days! I practically live on etsy now.

For my long-term readers, thank you for being so patient with me as I try to pull everything together as the semester draws to an end! For you new readers, or first-timers who just discovered Such Rubbish, this site is still active and I plan to keep it that way! I do update, it's just been fewer and further between as of late due to school and work. If you ever get lonely without your good old Such Rubbish keeping you company, you can always head on over to my blog and reassure yourself that I'm still alive.

Sweet dreams everybody,

XOXOXOXO Miya
